I Wrote a Book!

Herbs & Crystals DIY : Use Plant Medicine and Crystal Energy to Heal the Mind and Body

It has always been a goal of mine to write a book. I didn't know how or when it would happen, or if it would ever happen, but last year, I got the amazing opportunity to publish a book. I was so honored that I was asked to write this book, and I couldn't be any happier to finally be able to share it with you guys. If you are a long time follower of our blog (way back to 2008-ish) you know my passion for sharing projects and ideas. Before Aquarian Soul became a beauty brand, I was always sharing DIY projects on the blog. There are also many items I just don't sell anymore also, that I wanted to be able to share as a DIY so you can make it yourself! Anyone remember our floral dreamcatchers? Or my gemstone pendulums? Have you ever wanted to learn how I make my floral smudge wands? How to create a crystal oracle? Or make your own zodiac candles? These are just some of the projects that appear in the book.

Another aspect of this book that I am extremely proud of is that I shot all the photos in the book. If you know me in real life, you know that all throughout high school I carried my first digital camera everywhere I went. I was that friend that was always taking pictures. I would go on 'photo adventures' and always aspired to be good at photography. While I don't think I am a photo wizard, I think I have settled into my own style of photography, just as in my writing and drawing. Once you just let your intuition take over, and stop trying to do something, and just feel it out, you get comfortable in it, and you start liking what you see. 

Writing a book, coming up with all the projects, and doing all the photography by yourself in a period of a few months, can be a slightly daunting task, but one that I thoroughly enjoyed. I constantly wanted to share sneak peeks or behind the scenes photos with you guys but I had to bite my tongue until I was allowed to share it with you guys! 

I wanted this book to be more than just a book of just projects. I wanted to provide you with information about herbs & crystals. I share my top 20 crystals, information about sustainably foraging, and one of my favorite topics that I haven't seen in any other books- how to spot a fake crystal. Something I have learned over the years in all my travels to the gem shows. 

I really hope you guys enjoy this, it was a true labor of love!
