WHAT IS A BESOM?
Besoms come from the Old English word for broom plant. They are traditionally made from birch twigs with willow branches for the handle. They are used to energetically sweep away negative energy. They are also used to cleanse your magic circle and space to consecrate it for ritual. The broom has many associations with witches, flying ointments and magical spells which persist to modern day. By using tree magic and the powerful symbolism associated with each type of wood, one can customize the broom to suit your intentions and desires.
ORANGE WOOD
Our besoms were hand crafted with wood from the Citrus sinensis (orange) tree. Oranges are known for their properties of love, luck, abundance, prosperity, happiness and joy. Like all citrus, orange is is associated with uplifted mood, good fortune, positivity and even slightly (lemons are best for this) cleansing.
